Notes:

  1. Since the relaxation of restrictions on alienation on 2nd July, 1999, FFSS flats are subject to 5-year restriction. During the restriction period, owners have to first offer the flats to the Housing Society (HS) and, if the HS does not exercise its option to buy back within 28 days, owners can sell in the open market after payment of premium. From the 3rd to the 5th year, there is an alternative channel to sell in the Secondary Market at negotiated price without payment. Only certain category of applicants (e.g., public housing tenants) are allowed to purchase in the Secondary Market. Both purchasers and flat owners have to obtain the relevant certificates from the HS before they could enter into binding agreements for sale and purchase.
  2. After the 5-year period has expired, owners can sell in the open market after payment of premium without first offering to the HS.
  3. SCHS flats are subject to 5-year resale restriction. During the restriction period, owners have to first offer the flats to the HS and, if the HS does not exercise its option to buy back within 28 days, owners can sell in the open market after payment of premium.
  4. After the 5-year period has expired, owners can sell in the open market after payment of premium, without first offering to the HS.

Latest arrangement on means of communications by the EAA

With a view to facilitating communication and protecting the environment, the EAA will communicate with licensees and licence applicants via e-mail, mobile SMS/MMS or other electronic means in lieu of mailing where appropriate. Certain information on matters concerning estate agency practice (e.g. practice circulars) will ONLY be published on the EAA website and drawn to the attention of licensees by electronic means. Licensees should visit the EAA website regularly to obtain such information and familiarise themselves with any requirement which is applicable to them.  

 

The EAA will not provide printed copy of such information which is already published on its website.
