Documents required for application for grant of licence

To apply for the grant of a licence, an applicant is required to provide the following documents:

For a salesperson’s licence or an estate agent’s licence (individual)

  1. duly completed and signed application forms;
  2. qualifying examination result slip showing a pass in the relevant examination within the 12 months immediately before the application;
  3. Hong Kong Identity Card or travel document;
  4. document indicating completion of an educational level of Form 5 of secondary education or its equivalent;
  5. duly completed and signed questionnaire on education (for those having non-Hong Kong educational qualifications); and
  6. a photograph (click here for the specifications).

Only original documents or copies certified by a practicing solicitor in Hong Kong are accepted. A copy of the relevant documents will be made and retained by the EAA.

For an estate agent’s licence (company)

  1. duly completed and signed application forms;
  2. valid business registration certificate;
  3. any of the following documents showing the company name and number:
    1. certificate of incorporation; or
    2. any document having been filed with the Companies Registry;
  4. any of the following documents showing the latest board of directors:
    1.  Latest Annual Return (NAR1) and/or Notice of Change of Company Secretary and Director (ND2A) ; or
    2. Incorporation Form (Company Limited by Shares) (NNC1)  and/or Notice of Change of Company Secretary and Director (ND2A)

    [including the Protected Information Report of the above documents showing the full identification numbers of directors (Hong Kong Identity Card/Passport)]

  5. any of the following documents showing the latest registered address:
    1. Annual Return (NAR1); or
    2. Notice of Change of Address of Registered Office (NR1).
