6. Application for Statement of Particulars of Business

An estate agent must apply for a statement of particulars of business for each place of business under each business name. The statement must be displayed at the relevant place of business.
Form 8A requires the applicant to provide information on the business.
The applicant is required to provide a copy of the Business Registration Certificate of the place of business. Operators of sole-proprietorships or partnerships should also provide a copy of a certified extract of information of the Business Register from the Inland Revenue Department (enquiry hotline is 2594 3143).
Form 8B is applicable only to a partnership applying for a statement of particulars of business. Each and every partner has to complete and submit a Form 8B.
