In light of the current economic downturn and its impact on the estate agency trade, the EAA has decided to offer a one-off, six-month licence fee concession to licensees. The Estate Agents (Licensing) (Amendment) Regulation 2009, which gives effect to the scheme, has already been passed by the Legislative Council.

From 1 May 2009 to 30 April 2010
Amount of fee concession
The maximum amount of fee reduction1 for the different types of licences during the one-year concession period is as follows:

1If an applicant is granted a licence with a validity period of less than 12 months, the concession amount will be pro-rated.
Ways to obtain a fee concession
1. Licence renewal

Licensees are eligible for the full concession when granted a 12- or 24-month licence within the concession period. Licensees granted a 12-month licence have to pay only half the original fee, as stated in Table 1.

The fee concession scheme also covers new licence applications.

Licensees who hold more than one licence are eligible for the fee concession for each licence.
