Details of the Mutual Recognition Scheme for Mainland Estate Agents
Mainland estate agents wishing to have their professional qualification recognized by the Estate Agents Authority must fulfill the following basic requirements:
- being 18 years of age or over;
- holding a valid certificate of registration issued by the China Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and Agents (CIREA) (such certificate not having been obtained through any recognition scheme between the Mainland and other countries or regions) and being a practising member of the CIREA;
- having carried out estate agency work in the Mainland for not less than 2 years or having been a professor or an associate professor specializing in real estate related subjects in a higher educational institution in the Mainland; and
- being a fit and proper person to hold a licence under section 19 of the Estate Agents Ordinance (Laws of Hong Kong, Cap 511).
